Our Beginning
Rustic Wind emerged from a simple observation: South Africa possesses extraordinary craft talent, yet many artisans struggled to connect with clients who would truly appreciate their work. Founded in Cape Town in 2011, we set out to bridge that gap.
What started as a small collective of three woodworkers and a textile artist has grown into a network spanning multiple provinces. We now represent over fifty independent artisans, each bringing distinct skills and cultural heritage to their craft.
Our workshops are not factories. They are spaces where traditional techniques meet contemporary design thinking, where young apprentices learn from master craftspeople, and where each piece tells a story of South African creativity.
